There are various styles and designs of garage slabs. The most basic design is slab on grade, which is suitable when the slope or elevation changes are minimal in the area of construction.

When there is slope greater than 4 degrees, a pony wall may need to be incorporated into the slab to ensure that water does not enter the garage or get underneath the wall.

Garage floors typically use a smooth finish with the exterior apron being a broomed finish. In most cases a standard 4" slab is sufficient to support standard vehicles and light duty trucks.
